SER Trust and appeals
What SER Trust measures, how it differs from epoch fairness status, the public trust levels, and how to appeal a decision.
Last updated Sep 26, 2026
- No public accusations. SER never labels anyone a bot or a cheat in public. It shows neutral levels and statuses only.
- Signals are not verdicts. Unusual activity is a reason to look closer. Restrictions that remove rewards need corroborating evidence or a person’s review.
- Evidence stays private. The details behind a level or status are visible only to SER reviewers, and every reviewer action is recorded in an audit log.
- People can appeal. Warnings, disqualifications, restrictions and post classifications can be appealed and are reviewed by a person.
Trust vs fairness status
SER keeps two separate reputations and never combines them into one number:
- SER Trust (0–100)
- Long-term reputation: participation history, completed campaigns, content quality, review outcomes and previously confirmed violations. Shown on your passport.
- Epoch fairness status
- A temporary status per reward epoch of each campaign or token — Normal, Warning 1, Warning 2, Disqualified — that sets the reward multiplier for that epoch. See fairness for what each status means.
One unusual epoch affects that epoch’s rewards; it doesn’t permanently define your profile.
Public trust levels
| Level | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Trusted | Established record of original, qualified contribution. |
| Normal | No open reviews. Standard reward eligibility. |
| Under review | Some activity is being reviewed. Related rewards may be held until the review completes. |
| Restricted | Reward eligibility is currently restricted after a review. Decisions can be appealed. |
- Campaigns can require a minimum SER Trust to join.
- Individual posts can be held for review without changing your level; a held post doesn’t count until it’s reviewed.
Recovery
Trust recovers through clean participation, original content, completed campaigns and long-term legitimate activity. Minor, older issues fade and don’t permanently destroy a profile. Severe confirmed abuse can have lasting consequences.
Appeals
- 01
Open an appeal
For a fairness warning or restriction, use Request review on your dashboard’s Fairness status card or fairness history. For a post classification, open the post on your dashboard and choose Appeal. - 02
Manual review
A SER reviewer examines the records and your statement. Requests are handled in the order received. - 03
Outcome
You get an “Appeal resolved” notification with the result and the reviewer’s reason. If approved, the restriction is lifted or the warning cleared, and later scoring uses the corrected standing.
What an appeal can’t change
Rewards for epochs that are already published onchain are fixed by that epoch’s Merkle root and can’t be rewritten. SER will never ask for your seed phrase, private key or X password during an appeal.
Evidence and privacy
Review evidence is used only to operate scoring, fairness and review. It is visible to SER reviewers, not to projects or other sers. See the privacy notice for what SER stores.
