“Genuine original contribution should economically outperform automated spam and manufactured engagement.”
SER rewards have real economic value, so they attract farming: many wallets or accounts claiming the same reward, automated posting, copied content, manufactured engagement and short-lived holding around snapshots. SER’s fairness system protects reward pools from that — so that one high-quality original contribution for a real audience is worth more than dozens of automated posts and manufactured interactions.
Two separate things are tracked, and they are never combined into one number:
- SER Trust (0–100)
- Long-term reputation built from legitimate participation, completed campaigns, content quality and review history. It recovers with clean participation over time.
- Epoch fairness status
- A temporary assessment for each reward epoch of each campaign or token. One unusual epoch never permanently defines a profile.
What we look at
Fairness is assessed across nine broad categories. Each category is limited in how much it can count, and closely related observations count once, not several times.
- Identity Integrity
- One person, one claim. We look for the same social identity or wallet being used to collect the same reward more than once. Using several wallets is not a problem by itself.
- Wallet Integrity
- Wallets that appear to be operated together to multiply rewards. Funding from exchanges, bridges and other common infrastructure is expected and is not treated as a signal.
- Account Authenticity
- Whether a social account and its audience look like a real, established presence. New and small accounts are welcome and are never disqualified for being new or small.
- Posting Behavior
- Posting patterns that look automated rather than written by a person.
- Content Originality
- Original contributions earn more than repeated or copied posts. Required campaign elements such as the ticker, contract address, official link, hashtags and official media are ignored when comparing content, and the earlier original is never penalized.
- Engagement Quality
- Engagement is weighted by quality. Manufactured or coordinated interactions count for less. Going viral with a real audience is not penalized.
- Holding Eligibility
- Campaigns may require holding a minimum balance. Falling below the minimum pauses future qualification until the balance is restored; it is not treated as abuse.
- Cross-Campaign Behavior
- Low-effort participation repeated across many campaigns, such as reusing one promotional template everywhere.
- Historical Reputation
- Previously confirmed violations. Minor, older issues fade with clean participation; severe confirmed abuse can have lasting consequences.
Why we don’t publish the exact rules
Detailed limits, similarity measures and weights are not published, because publishing them would show farmers exactly how far they can go. What we do publish is what each outcome means for your rewards, how to see your own status, and how to request a review.
Effect on rewards
Your status for an epoch sets a reward multiplier. It is applied to your score before rewards are allocated, never after payout.
| Status | Multiplier | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Normal | 1.00× | Full rewards. |
| Warning 1 | 0.75× | Rewards for the affected epoch are reduced by 25%. |
| Warning 2 | 0.50× | Rewards for the affected epoch are reduced by 50%. |
| Disqualified | 0.00× | No reward for the affected epoch. |
| Banned | 0.00× | No future SER reward eligibility. Finalized onchain transactions are never reversed. |
- Holding below a campaign minimum is not a penalty. It pauses future qualification for that campaign until your balance is eligible again.
- Confirmed manipulation is decided by a person, with a written reason and evidence, and removes the reward for the affected epoch.
- Bans are reserved for severe confirmed fraud, repeated manipulation, ban evasion or persistent multi-account abuse. Finalized onchain transactions are never reversed.
Seeing your status
- Your dashboard shows a Fairness status card: your status, reward multiplier, the categories involved in plain language, and when the next automated review runs. Reviews run automatically about every few minutes and after significant events.
- Fairness history lists past and resolved warnings, campaign restrictions and your review requests.
- On the leaderboard, adjusted accounts show a neutral indicator — ✓ Normal, ⚠ Warning, Restricted or DQ — with the note “Reward eligibility has been adjusted by SER's fairness system.” SER never publishes allegations or reasons about anyone.
Requesting a review
- 01
Request review
On your dashboard, choose Request review for a warning, disqualification, campaign restriction or account restriction. Explain what happened and add links or context that help. - 02
Human review
A SER reviewer looks at your statement and the underlying records. Status moves from Open to Under review. One open request per item; if a request is not approved you can ask again with new information, up to three requests per item in total. - 03
Decision
You get a notification with the outcome and the reviewer’s reason. If approved, the restriction is lifted or the warning cleared for what was reviewed, and the full history is kept. New activity after the review is assessed normally.
What a review can’t change
Rewards already published onchain are fixed by that epoch’s Merkle root. SER will never ask for your seed phrase, private key or passwords.
Principles
- A signal is not guilt. Unusual activity is a reason to look closer, not proof of abuse. Missing data is never treated as a signal.
- Correlation is not fraud. Communities interact with each other; shared funding from exchanges, bridges and common infrastructure is expected.
- Viral is not botted. A genuinely popular original post is never penalized for its reach.
- Small or new is not a bot. New and small accounts are welcome and are never disqualified for being new or small.
- Multiple wallets are not Sybil. Using several wallets is fine; claiming the same reward more than once is the problem.
- Transparency without exploitability. Outcomes and your own status are visible; detection details are not.
- Recovery is possible. Minor, older issues fade with clean participation.
- Severe confirmed abuse has consequences.
New detection rules are introduced in a record-only mode first and never affect rewards until they are calibrated. Every reward epoch records which version of the fairness rules and of the scoring engine it used; historical epochs are never silently rescored.
